Description

These are a group of stucco villas forming a crescent, dating to circa 1825. Originally, Nos 2, 3, and 5 were present, but have since been demolished. The houses are detached and designed with varying heights, two storeys at one end of the crescent and three storeys where the ground level slopes. Most of the villas feature ground floor cast-iron balconies and central niches. Doorways are framed by Tuscan half columns and feature an entablature; No 12 has a particularly noteworthy, well-detailed unfluted Doric porch set to one side. Each house has two sash windows fitted with shutters. The roofs are slate and hipped. Nos 1, 4, and Nos 6 to 12 form a cohesive group.
