Description

Number 18 North Street is a building with a red brick front dating from 1900, when the street was widened. It stands four storeys high with sash windows. The rear of the building exhibits rendered 16th and 17th century timber framing. A moulded screen features at the front entrance, and a rear oriel is supported by brackets. The building includes a cellar. It has an important and now unique feature: a timber-framed two-storey gallery at the rear, intended to connect with a kitchen wing that has largely been demolished.
