Description

34 The Strand is a late 17th-century building located in Topsham. It is constructed of roughcast brick and features two storeys and attics. This "Dutch" house has its long axis positioned at right angles to the road. The front of the building has seven windows and includes an early 19th-century verandah. The end facing the road has a restored Dutch gable, two sash windows with sliding shutters, and glazing bars. The roof is slate and includes dormers. Inside, there are two original staircases, and the building is noted for its unaltered interior plan. All the listed buildings along The Strand form a group.
