Description
Park Lodge is the main lodge to Killerton Park, built in 1825 by C R Cockrell. The building is stuccoed and features a low-pitched hipped slate roof with a pair of coupled chamfered stacks on the ridge of the wing, which is now painted. It has an L-shaped plan and is single-storeyed. The front, which faces the drive, is asymmetrical with a polygonal end to the wing. Each of the three faces has a 2-light window, with the central window set out under a timber pediment supported by pilasters. To the left of the wing is a canted bay. A platband connects the lintels of all the windows, and there is a low stone plinth. The windows are all timber casements from the 20th century. It is assumed that the entrance was located under the pediment. The alterations made to the building are capable of being reversed.
