Description
The house in the farmyard at Belthayes Farm is a disused farmhouse that was formerly the home farm to Dulford House, built between 1762 and 1800 and demolished in the 1930s. It is constructed of handmade brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof that is hipped at the ends, featuring two axial brick stacks. The building has a single-depth plan that is three rooms wide, with an integral stable at the left end and two entrances to the house. The details of the interior were unclear during the survey in 1987 as it was not inspected.
The exterior of the house is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three windows and regular fenestration, plus one window that belongs to the adjoining stable block. There are two front doors, both with rectangular overlights and openwork iron porches that have ogee heads. The left-hand door is a 19th-century panelled door, while the right-hand door is either 19th or 20th-century and is a plank door. The windows are late 18th-century, consisting of 2-light casements with eight panes per light, all featuring flat brick arches. To the left, the stable has a door and window below a loft door, all also with flat brick arches. The interior may hold interest, but it was not inspected. The house forms a group with the carriage house, pigeon house, and stables nearby.
