Description
The Wyndham Arms is a public house that underwent 19th-century modifications to an earlier building. It features roughcast cob and a gable end slate roof. The original layout has been altered by the removal of partitions, creating a single large ground-floor bar. There is a former stable block, which has an end stack and is separated from the main building by carriage entrances. The main range has end stacks with brick shafts throughout and is two storeys high.
The front exterior has a three-window range, with four-light casement windows on the first floor, possibly set in pre-19th-century embrasures, and now fitted with external shutters. The ground floor has three 20th-century windows and a door with depressed panels. At the rear, there is an outshut under a catslide roof. The Wyndham Arms is situated in a prominent location facing the square and next to the parish churchyard, which adds to its group value.
