Description

Yeomans Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century. It is built with plastered cob on stone rubble footings, with a stone rubble or cob stack topped with 20th-century brick and a thatched roof. Originally, the cottage had a two-room plan, facing east. A single-room addition was built later in the 20th century, slightly set back on the north side. The larger room on the left (south) side has a rear, side-facing stack for heating, while the smaller room on the right was likely a service room, possibly a buttery or dairy. The cottage is two storeys high and has a two-window front with a 20th-century casement windows. The original part of the cottage has a symmetrical arrangement of two windows on either side of a central doorway, which has a 20th-century door behind a contemporary thatched porch. The main roof is half-hipped at each end. The interior was not inspected, but it is believed to contain original carpentry details. Yeomans Cottage is part of a group with Appletree Cottage nearby.
