Description
The former sexton's house, located 52 meters northwest of the Church of St Michael and All Angels, was built before 1842 and has undergone some later alterations.
Constructed from random limestone rubble with limestone dressings, the house features a slate roof, although the central ridge stack has been removed. The building has a rectangular plan with a lean-to structure against the south gable wall.
It stands one and a half storeys tall and consists of three bays, showcasing high gables and sash windows set in stone surrounds. The symmetrical entrance faces the churchyard and includes a central plank door within a two-centred arched surround, flanked by paired timber sash windows in square-headed surrounds with slender mullions. Each gable end features a two-light window on the upper floor, with some cusped detailing at the apex of the bargeboards. The rear elevation has two windows, one of which is a large later addition, along with a central doorway that contains a half-glazed door. The single-storey lean-to attached to the south gable wall is made of stone rubble and has a monopitch slate roof.
