Description

This linhay, located approximately 10 metres north of Talaton Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and was reroofed in the 19th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a red pantile roof, which was originally thatched. The linhay faces southeast, but its front is obscured by a 20th-century cartshed. It is open-fronted and represents Alcock's linhay type T1, with crossbeams that are mortised-and-tenoned into full height front posts. These posts support the front principals of 19th-century A-frame trusses, and the roof is gable-ended.
