Description

Parsons Farmhouse is a late 18th- to early 19th-century farmhouse. It is constructed of plastered cob on stone rubble footings, with stone rubble or brick stacks, some with 19th-century brick chimney shafts, and a thatched roof. A late 19th-century brick outshot with a slate roof, partially replaced with concrete tiles, is present.

The farmhouse faces south and has a double-depth plan, with a central staircase flanked by rooms and service rooms to the rear. A large, projecting stack is located on the right (east) end, incorporating an oven projection. A late 19th-century outshot extends across the rear. The two-storey front features a symmetrical arrangement with late 19th-century casement windows with glazing bars. The central doorway has a 20th-century door and a contemporary porch with a slate monopitch roof. The main roof is hipped at both ends and has relatively tall chimney shafts. According to the farmer, the interior, which was not inspected, shows only 19th-century plaster. No structural timbers are exposed, and the fireplaces are blocked.
