Description

Long Bridge, also known as Yarty Bridge, is a road bridge that spans the River Yarty. It was built in the early to late 19th century and is constructed of coursed stone rubble and ashlar. The bridge features three round arches and has cutwaters on the north, or upstream, side. There are stringcourses at road level and a parapet with large stone coping stones. The abutments are short and slightly splayed. A cast iron plaque on the parapet warns that wilful damage will be punished by transportation.
