Description

Leat Bridge, located approximately 60 metres east of Newton Poppleford Bridge, is a small road bridge constructed around 1840. It features squared blocks of local stone, with limestone ashlar used for the abutments, voussoirs, and vaults, and granite ashlar coping. The bridge has vertical abutments and a single low segmental arch. It is topped with plain granite coping and a 20th-century timber parapet. This leat bridge was built at the same time as the nearby Newton Poppleford Bridge.
