Description
Furzehill is a 17th-century, two-storey stone farmhouse located on Chapel Street in Sidbury. It features a long front with three windows that is positioned at right angles to the road. The building has undergone some alterations and is topped with a thatched roof. The gable end facing the road displays a tablet with a partly illegible date, "177-". One corner of the gable end is supported by a stone buttress that also serves as a gate pier. The windows are 19th-century wood casements, and the front door is adorned with an 18th-century dentil corniced hood supported by small brackets and later iron supports. There is a later verandah at the front and a brick addition on the west side of the house. Surrounding the property are stone and cob outhouses, which are thatched, along with walls that enclose two sides of the yard and extend in a rectangular block along the road.
