The Old House is a cottage range dating to around the 17th and 18th centuries. It is built of roughcast stone rubble, with a thatched roof featuring hipped and half-hipped ends. The cottage has two storeys and a long two-window front, with a byre at the right-hand (north) end. It features 19th-century casement windows, some with two and others with three lights, all containing glazing bars. A plank door is positioned to the left of centre, and a byre door is on the right. Two brick ridge chimney stacks are present. The building has group value.
