Description

This is a group of six houses, numbered 31 to 41, located on the north side of North Street and dating from the earlier to mid-19th century. The houses appear as three pairs. They have stucco facades, with the exterior of number 41 finished in roughcast. Moulded eaves cornices run along the top, and the roofs are slate, with coped gable ends. The central pairs of houses are slightly forward, with steeply pitched gabled roofs, each featuring a decorative wreath in the triangular space above the gable. Each house has three storeys and two windows, with casement windows featuring mullions and a transom. Quoins (decorative cornerstones) are visible on the centre and outer sides of the projecting section. One of the recessed bays to the side has a segmental arched window at first-floor level, with a segmental arched entrance below. Some of the doors retain arched tracery to the top of the glazed panel.
