Description

No. 23, known as the Royal Beacon Hotel, is a building located on the north-east side of The Beacon. It dates back to the 18th century and features a facade that is rendered white. The building has a slate roof with wide bracketed eaves and bands between the floors. It consists of three storeys and a basement, with three windows on the front. The outer windows on the top floor are three-light sashes, while below, there are three-storey bay windows with balustraded parapets and no glazing bars. The entrance is marked by a central round-arched door with a keystone, leading to a porch that has an iron balustraded parapet and steps. The area is also enclosed by railings. The rear elevation retains a slate-hung bow and a round-arched staircase window. This building is included for its group value.
