Description
Chestnut Cottage is a 17th-century house located in North Newnton. It is constructed of brick and features a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, comprising three bays, with a one-bay timber-framed extension at the rear on the right side. The brickwork is dark red, accented by ashlar quoins and a stone mid-wall string. The windows are moulded stone, designed as two-light openings with brick relieving arches and leaded lights. The original central door has been removed, and the entrance is now located in a rustic thatched lean-to on the left side. A projecting oven is present in the right gable, and the thatch is half-hipped.
