Description
The Old Rectory is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 18th century, with possibly earlier work in the wing. It is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. There is a central door in a gabled porch that leads into a through hall, flanked by reception rooms. A plat band runs along the exterior. The ground floor features twelve and sixteen-pane sash windows, as well as a tripartite window to the right. The wing on the left is believed to be older than the main block and has a flat roof, is two storeys tall, and includes a cellar. This wing features a two-storey canted bay window on the gable end and a lateral stack with a reset fireplace dating from around 1670. The wing has been extended to the rear by an additional two bays in the 20th century. Inside, there is a stack that projects into the through stair hall, and a moulded plaster cornice in a simple style can be found in the hall and the room on the right.
