Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and consists of six bays, with a two-bay rear extension on the left. The three northern bays have ashlar quoins and stone moulded and mullioned windows with transoms and gauged brick arches. There is a stone mid-wall string. The entrance is located in the left bay, leading to a passage that provides access to the stair at the rear. The entrance features a six-panelled door with a stone surround and a simple bracketed wood canopy.
In the 18th century, the building was extended to the left by an additional three bays, which include timber cross windows and a brick dentilled string. A moulded timber eaves runs continuously along the structure. The roof is hipped. The rear wing is timber framed and likely represents the earliest phase of the building, originally a two-bay cottage. This wing was refaced in early 19th century brick, with the refacing extending over the gable of the main block, and it features cogged eaves. There is a room above the stair at the rear.
