Description
Manton Weir Farmhouse is an 18th-century building, though it may incorporate earlier fabric. The left-hand portion of the farmhouse is timber-framed with whitewashed brick nogging, while the remainder dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of whitewashed brick. It has a hipped thatched roof and red brick stacks. The left-hand part is single-storey, while the remainder is two storeys high. Four casement sashes are on the first floor, two on the ground floor, followed by two tripartite sashes. A timber porch, dating from the early 20th century, shelters a 20th-century door. Manton Weir Farmhouse, together with No. 1 (Ferndale), the Post Office, Nos. 66 to 70 (consecutive), The Oddfellows Arms public house, and No. 73, form a notable group.
