Description
The chapel wall is incorporated into the right-hand wall of numbers 19 and 21 on Bristol Street in Malmesbury. This medieval structure features a limestone rubble wall with dressings and is part of the former eastern wall of the chapel. It includes two blocked loops and splayed reveals of a window, which are integrated into the internal first-floor right-hand party wall of No. 19. The remaining parts of numbers 19 and 21 do not hold special architectural or historic interest. Historically, in the late 17th century, Aubrey noted the remains of an 'ancient building which looks like a hermitage', and the site is marked as 'Quaere chapel' on his map.
