Description

The Deacon tomb is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 4 metres northeast of the east end of the Memorial Garden, and east of the Church of St. John. It dates from around 1824 and is made of pennant stone. The tomb features large rectangular plaques on each side, a plain capstone, and a ridged top stone with unmoulded antefixae. The south side has a finely lettered inscription dedicated to W. Deacon, who died in 1824.
