No. 37 and 38 Upper Woodford is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building features flint and chalk chequerwork, stone quoins, and a tiled roof. It is two storeys high and has a complex layout that includes a 2-bay core block with two gabled extensions to the north and an 'L' shaped wing on the east side, along with various 19th-century extensions. The main entrance is located on the east side of the wing, with a secondary entrance on the western side of the northern extension. The house has some 2 and 3-light stone-mullioned windows in the core block, along with various later windows, some of which are leaded. The roofs are hipped and there are brick stacks.
