Description

The Manor House is a late 18th-century farmhouse. It is built of brick on stone footings, with a tiled roof. The original core of the building consists of three bays, with a 19th-century four-bay rear wing to the left and a single-storey extension containing a garage. The front features a central round-headed opening with a panelled and glazed door and fanlight. The windows are twelve-paned sashes, set within gauged brick arches. The eaves have brick dentil details. There are two flat-roofed dormers with nine-paned sashes to the front, and two hipped dormers to the side. The roof is hipped, with three tall brick stacks. An early 19th-century gabled porch is located on a side elevation. The house stands on the site of an earlier house, which dated to the mid-16th century and included a hall and parlour, as noted in the Victoria County History of Wiltshire.
