Description
Forge Farmhouse is a detached house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a thatched roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The house has a gable end facing the road and includes an integral outshut. The south front is two stories high with three windows. To the right, there is a 19th-century conservatory with margin-pane French windows, alongside 9-pane sash windows and a 6-panelled door. The first floor has three 2-light casements. The left side of the house has a blocked doorway and a single-light casement window to the left. A 20th-century lean-to extension is attached to the left of the outshut, and there is a single-storey thatched extension on the right side. The interior has not been inspected. This building was formerly the village smithy, with the forge located in the attached outbuildings.
