Description

Halfway Cottage is a detached cottage dating back to the 18th century, with a 20th-century extension to the rear. The walls are a mix of limestone and flint, laid in a chequered pattern, topped with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The cottage is in an L-shape, with the main entrance located at the rear.

The front of the cottage has two storeys and two windows. These are two-light, ovolo-mullioned windows on both the ground and first floors. The right-hand return displays a single casement window on the ground floor, and a stone tablet bearing the inscription "T. MOGG / 1752 / I. MOGG" is located below a brick stack. The left-hand return has a single casement window to the attic.

The rear of the cottage serves as the entrance front and features a glazed door in an ovolo-moulded frame on the right. A 20th-century door and a two-light ovolo-mullioned window were inserted on the left. The first floor has two casement windows. A two-storey extension, constructed in the 20th century, has plastic-framed windows. The interior was inaccessible when surveyed in November 1984.
