Description

Wye House, dating from the late 18th century, is a two-story building with garden walls in front. It is constructed of brick on a small stone plinth, and features wide-angle pilaster projections. A molded cornice sits above the main structure, with a slight central projection topped by a blocking course. The roof is hipped and covered in slate. The facade has five windows on the first floor and four tall windows on the ground floor, along with a central glazed door. This door is sheltered by a Greek Doric porch made of ashlar bath stone, featuring two columns in antis and arched glazed lights to the sides. The property is approached by central square stone gate piers, flanked by brick walls along the road frontage. Wye House forms a group with numbers 1 to 11 Barn Street.
