Description
Corsham Baptist Church is a Baptist Chapel built in 1828. It features a combination of small ashlar block and rubble stone with an asbestos slate hipped roof. The building has two storey elevations and a rectangular plan, with a three-window range on both the front and side. The pointed windows are set in flush surrounds and are fitted with glazing bar sashes. The front wall is made of small ashlar block, which has a raised band over the lower windows and a raised eaves band.
There is a projecting central enclosed porch added in 1922, which includes a doorway that matches the original windows, double doors, and an intersecting tracery overlight. A datestone on the building reads 'Ebenezer Chapel 1828'. The side and rear walls are constructed of rubble stone, with a two-storey north side facing Prior Street. The upper windows on the south side are adjacent to an attached church hall that was built in 1873. The west end has two upper windows. Inside, there is an east end bow-fronted gallery adorned with Gothic panels.
