Description

The Old Chapel is a former Congregational chapel, now a house, built in 1838. It is constructed of squared limestone rubble and has a slate roof. The building features a gable end facing the street, with a gabled porch that has a round-headed opening, which is now fully glazed. There are four round-headed windows on two levels, each with raised surrounds and projecting sills. The end pilasters return at the top as a string course at the base of the pediment. A central dedication stone is also present. The side windows on the right are blocked, while those on the left have been altered. A photograph of the building before its conversion is available in the National Monuments Record.
