Description
No. 16 The Close is an early 18th-century building that has been altered. It is two storeys high with an attic and is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring flush ashlar quoins. The building has a slight plinth and a chamfered drip over the ground and first floor windows. The roof, which dates from the 19th century, is slate and has gable end chimneys along with two dormers at the rear. The windows are two-light with moulded mullions, comprising five on the first floor and four on the ground floor. The central doorway has been altered and features a wooden surround, a six-panel door with the upper two panels glazed, and a small lions' mask knocker.
