Description

These are a pair of small, two-storey houses, numbers 22 and 24 Endless Street, dating to circa 1830-40. Number 22 has a painted facade and an additional storey to the rear. Both houses have low-pitched hipped slate roofs and flat eaves. Number 24 retains both original windows on its first floor, which are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars. Number 22 has a three-light mullioned shop window on the ground floor, set within a pilaster frame with a cornice above. It features a plain doorcase with a leaded hood, a partly flush panelled door, a reeded doorhead, and a rectangular fanlight. Number 24 has a single sash window with intact glazing bars on its ground floor, along with a recessed door of six flush panels, flush panelled reveals, a reeded doorhead, and a rectangular fanlight with a curved-sided diamond glazing pattern. This doorway is surrounded by an architrave with round corner blocks and a shallow cornice hood. Numbers 16 to 26 (even) form a group.
