Description

EASTON GREY THE STREET ST 88 NE (east side) 3/24 Barn and adjoining ranges of outbuildings to the south-east 12.12.51 of Bridge House GV II

Barn and attached loose box range and shelter building. C17 barn of squared and coursed rubble with stone slate to steeply pitched gabled roof. Garden front has central full-height midstrey with hipped roof and blocked entrance with plank door below. Later lean-to outshut to right-hand, 1923 gabled stable extension to left-hand with loft opening under bracketed hood at gable apex and two 3-light casements below. Roadside facade has double gates to centre and 2 gabled loft dormers with plank doors. Loose box range to left-hand of rubble with stone slate roof. Four circular piers to entrances and plank gates. Shelter building to right-hand has rubble rear wall to road and stone slate roof supported on 3 circular stone piers. Interior. Barn has a through-purlin roof structure with arched braces to collar beams. Shelter building has a simple butt-purlin roof with much renewal of timbers.
