Description
Nos 51 and 53 Market Place are buildings dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. They stand three storeys tall and are constructed from small coursed and dressed rubble, featuring ashlar quoins. The roof is tiled and hipped to the left. The upper floors have three ranges of windows, which are glazing bar sashes, with a single hung window on the second floor. The windows have stone surrounds and wood lintels on the first floor. The ground floor features a wide late Victorian shop front with a recessed and tiled central entrance, along with a house entrance to the left. To the right, there is a slightly recessed extension that has the same ridge height as No 55. This extension includes a plate glass sash window on both the first and second floors, a band over the ground floor, a cill band on the second floor, and a yard entry on the ground floor.
