Description
Cromwell Farmhouse and Barn is a Grade II listed farmhouse and barn, with the house dating from the 17th century and the barn dated 1754. The building is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two stories high with an attic, showcasing a coped west gable, end stacks, and flush quoins at the west end. The south front includes a small hipped dormer and a double-fronted range, set to the right, featuring ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows with hoodmoulds—two lights above and three lights below. The lower hoodmoulds are connected to a central hoodmould over the door, which has a moulded flush surround. There is a large open porch with Bridgwater tiles supported by two ashlar piers. To the left of the porch, there is a blocked single square light with a hoodmould at an intermediate level. To the right, the barn is attached and has a Bridgwater tile roof with a coped east gable. It features a door with a window above, followed by two tiers of three vent loops, and a date plaque under the eaves. The east end of the barn has a door, a loading door above, and a window above. The rear of the house is similar to the front and includes a 19th-century projecting rear wing with brick angles. The barn has a 19th-century roof.
