Description

CORSHAM CHURCH SQUARE ST 8770 5/35 Dancy monument in churchyard about 2m north of north aisle first window of Church of St. Bartholomew GV II

Chest tomb, c1760, ashlar with 2 framed slate plaques to north, rebated angles with husk drop and high relief carved end oval plaques, a flower to east, skull to west. Single south plaque. Moulded base and cornice with heavily moulded scrolled gadrooned top. Inscriptions to S. Dancy, builder and surveyor, died 1775, and W. Dancy died 1757.
