Description

Alley Cottage is a farmhouse located in Compton Bassett, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed chalk rubble and features a thatched roof with end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range of leaded casements, with a triple casement on each side and a pair above the central door. The left window on the ground floor has been replaced. The southeast corner is accentuated with quoins, and there is a lean-to at the north end that includes an east-facing triple casement. The rear wall displays a straight joint with a two-window range of casement pairs to the left, a door, and a one-window range to the right.
