Description
The stable range to the north of Lucknam Park is a Grade II listed building, dated 1834 and built for J. C. Boode. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone and features slate roofs, with a shallow open courtyard plan. The main two-storey section has a gable end facing the courtyard, complete with a pedimental gable, a floor band, and a timber square lantern adorned with pilasters and a dome.
On the first floor, there is an arched door with the date 1873 above it, and a large arched entry on the ground floor. To the left, there is an L-plan single-storey range of stables, which includes two lunettes flanking an arched-head doorway. This section also features an arched doorway at the angle with the inscription "C. B. 1834," along with two arched-head doors and a broad arched coach entry.
To the right, another L-plan range begins with a single-storey section that has two lunettes flanking flat-head double doors, followed by a two-storey coach house that includes four cambered-arched ground floor entries and three 16-pane upper windows. The gables are coped, and there is a circular stack at the east end. The return wing is two-storey with a hipped roof, featuring two first floor 16-pane sash windows, a ground floor arched doorway, and two 12-pane sashes set in broad cambered-arched blank openings.
