COLERNE LUCKNAM Stable range to north of Lucknam Park

GV II

Stable range, dated 1834, built for J. C. Boode, coursed rubble stone with slate roofs, 1 and 2-storeys, shallow open courtyard plan. 2-storey main feature, gable-ended to court with pedimental gable, floor band and timber square lantern with pilasters and dome. First floor arched door with date 1873 over and large arched ground floor entry. L-plan single storey range of stables to left with 2 lunettes flanking arched-head doorway, arched doorway in angle with C. B. 1834 carved and return with 2 arched-head doors and broad arched coach entry. To right, L-plan range, first single storey with 2 lunettes flanking flat-head double doors, then 2- storey coach house with 4 cambered-arched ground floor entries and three 16-pane upper windows, coped gables and east end circular stack. Return wing, 2-storey with hipped roof, 2 first floor 16- pane sashes and ground floor arched doorway and two 12-pane sashes set in broad cambered-arched blank openings.
