Description

The White House is a house dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed of painted rubble stone with a thatched roof. The west gable has a coped detail and an end wall stack, while the north and east gables are half-hipped. The house has two storeys and a T-shaped plan, featuring a projecting central gable on its north front. The north side has a doorway and one window to the ground floor of the main range on each side, with a casement window to the left and a three-light timber-mullion window to the right. The south front has two upper casement windows and a casement pair on the ground floor. A plank door is set within a glazed lean-to, which is then adjoined by a Bridgwater-tiled lean-to with two windows and an external stack incorporating a bread oven.
