Description
Yew Tree Lodge is a house dating from the late 17th century and 18th century, which has been heavily altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of cement-rendered rubble stone and features stone tiled roofs. The building consists of two sections: the earlier left side is a one-storey and attic structure with two dormer gables and a two-window range of 20th-century windows, along with end wall stacks. This section is connected to a taller two-storey and attic range from the 18th century, which has coped gables and end wall stacks. The hipped dormer features a two-light recessed hollow-moulded mullion window with a hoodmould, while the ground floor has a three-light recessed cyma-moulded mullion window. There is a door located in the east end wall. The rear of the building has been altered in the 20th century. The original range includes an east end fireplace with a timber lintel. A previous description noted that part of the roof was thatched and that there was an attached thatched barn, which has since been demolished.
