Description

The Old Rectory is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It has a Welsh slate roof and gable-end stone stacks. The house is two storeys high with a three-window facade. A central glazed porch provides access to a six-panelled door. To the right of the porch is a rectangular bay with three 12-pane sashes, and to the left is one 16-pane sash. The first floor has three 16-pane sashes. The roof has deep eaves with coped verges. The left return has French windows and 2-light casements to the first floor, along with a single-light casement to the attic. The right return features a cast-iron casement with a quadrant stay to the attic. Attached to the right is a two-storey range with a planked door and 2-light casements. A two-storey rear extension with sash windows is also present. The interior remains uninspected. The group value of the building stems from its contribution to the character of the surrounding area.
