Description
The gate piers, screen wall, and gates to the cemetery were built between 1854 and 1855, likely designed by C. E. Davis of Bath. The structure features six-foot stone gate piers topped with foiled gables and heavy octagonal finials, adorned with a cornice of leaves. There is a moulded plinth at the base. The left-hand pedestrian entrance is associated with the nearby lodge, while the right-hand pedestrian entrance has a high arch capped by a Celtic cross, flanked by cross-gabled weathered saddlestone buttresses, which consist of two orders and a label. The main entrance is centrally located, with main gates that have spearhead railings. The side gates are made of ornamental wrought iron with twisted dog rails. A dwarf wall extends to the north of the lodge and to the south of the gates, featuring moulded coping and two wall piers, each topped with cross-gabled weathered saddle stones.
