Description

Castle Cottage is a semi-detached cottage located on the north side of Stapleford Over Street. It dates from the late 17th century and was extended to the east in the 19th century. The building is constructed of flint and limestone with brick raised eaves and features a tiled hipped roof with brick stacks.

The cottage is two stories high and has two windows. The windows include casements, a 20th-century door, and two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements, along with a steel casement. On the first floor, there is a three-light casement and a hipped dormer with two-light casements. The right side of the cottage has two-light casements, while the rear features planked doors and a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement. The interior was not accessible for inspection during the survey in September 1985.
