Description

No. 16 The Strand is a detached cottage dating from the mid-18th century. It is built of Flemish bond brick with stone dressings and features a Bridgwater tiled roof with gable end brick stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows. The central door has six fielded panels and is set within a beaded stone architrave. There is a chamfered stone and brick plinth, and on either side of the door, there are 3-light beaded mullioned casements with flat arches and keystones. A toothed brick plat band runs along the first floor. The first floor includes a central blocked 2-light mullioned window flanked by two 2-light mullioned casements. There is a 20th-century two-storey rear addition.
