Description

The lychgate and attached walling to the south of the churchyard of the Church of St. Laurence was built in 1892 as a gift from Richard Payne. The structure features a flint and limestone wall with a plinth supporting the lychgate, which has timber-framed sides and a tiled roof. A curved section of the wall includes a wooden stile. The lychgate is adorned with elegant cusped and traceried panels on its sides and finely carved bargeboards. Inside, there is carved lettering that commemorates Richard Payne's gift.
