Description

The large granary at Longford Farm, dating from the second half of the 18th century, features weatherboarding on a timber frame and a tiled half-hipped roof supported by staddlestones. The structure has five bays and a west aisle, with central double doors and a slate-roofed porch on the west side. There are planked doors at both the first and second floor levels on the gable ends. The roof is constructed with a braced tie-beam on jowled main posts, collar and struts to the first tier of butt-purlins, and straight wind bracing to the second tier of purlins.
