Description

The Old Bakery is a group of three cottages dating from the 18th and early 19th centuries. Originally timber-framed, the exterior was later rebuilt in brick, and the roof is thatched. The building has a single storey and attic, with five bays in the main block, a return of three bays on the right-hand side, and a single-storey bay on the left. A boarded door is located in the central cottage, while other doors are set within the gable ends. The windows are timber casements, some with leaded panes. Chimneys are positioned between bays one and two, and bays four and five. The thatched roof sweeps over four dormers and is hipped at the ends. The interior features timber-framed partitions and spine beams with run-out stops.
