Description

No. 12, High Street is an early 19th-century attached shop and house. It is built of ashlar and has a Welsh slate hipped roof. The building is three storeys high and has a three-window front. The ground floor features an early 20th-century shop front. A plat band runs above the first floor, and there are three 12-pane sash windows on this floor. The second floor also has a plat band and three smaller 12-pane sash windows. Plain vertical bands define the sides of the facade. There are no windows to the left return. The main entrance is a plain, square-headed door. The rear of the building is of rubblestone construction and contains three 12-pane sashes over three storeys. The building is included on the list despite the 20th-century shop front and is valued as part of a group of three early 19th-century shops, alongside Nos. 14 and 16.
