Description

This is an early 19th-century detached shop and house. It is constructed of ashlar stone, with a Welsh slate hipped roof and ashlar stacks. The building is three storeys high and has a three-window facade. The shop front features 20th-century plate glass windows in the original openings, with pilasters flanking the central opening and a cornice over a plain frieze. The first floor has three 12-pane sash windows, with pilasters between and to the sides. The second floor has a plat band, three 12-pane sash windows, and pilasters that extend upwards to a plain frieze, with a cornice and blocking course above. The returns of the building have no windows, but feature plat bands at the first and second floor levels. This building is the finest of a group of three detached shops, the others being Nos. 12 and 16.
