Description

38 and 40 Fisherton Street is a late 19th-century building with a brick front that rises three storeys and features two windows. The modern shopfront conceals an earlier 16th-century timber-framed structure. Originally, the building had two gables facing the street, with an upper floor that jutted out. The rear wing was once the main house, and a gable is just visible, with the first floor covered in slate. Inside, the north room boasts 16th-century moulded ceiling beams, 17th-century panelling, an arched brace collar roof, tie beams, and flat arched fireplaces.
