Description
No 9 on High Street is a house that dates back to the 17th century and was raised in the 18th century. It features a timber frame with a roughcast front and a rubble stone plinth, topped by a thatched roof with a stack at the south end. The entrance is off-centre, framed by a timber architrave and a timber hood supported by brackets. The hood's soffit has fielded panelling, and there are small tripartite sash windows with 4:16:4 panes on either side of the door, along with a 16-pane sash window on the first floor. The left side of the house has a pair of casement windows on the ground floor and a small 9-pane window on the first floor. The south end wall is made of rubble stone and displays an exposed tie-beam and collar truss in the gable. At the back, there is a painted brick wing with ridge and end stacks, featuring 20th-century windows and a door with a stone hood on brackets.
